Trojans defeated Elwood 10-0 then 3A #3 ranked Yorktown 5-4. Hailee Howe was winning pitcher in both games. Lily Wendt killed it at the plate all weekend.

The Varsity softball team started off their 2021 campaign with a 6-3 win over Cardinal Ritter. Lily Wendt led off the game with a homerun on the 2nd pitch of the game. Avery Nagle had a bases loaded hit that scored 2 more runs in the 4th inning. In the top of the 7th inning, Wendt and Hailee Howe found themselves on base before Rachel Foley hit a 3 run homerun that would be the game winner. Howe pitched a great game, but the Raiders caught up with a homerun of their own in the 5th inning to tie the game. Grace Redelman came in to pitch and gave up only 1 run and was the winning pitcher. The Trojans recorded 12 runs off of Cardinal Ritter. It was a great team win and a fantastic start to the 2021 season!

The Trojan softball team enjoyed a home opener win over Beech Grove 7-4. Lily Wendt continued her hot bat going 3-4 with 2 RBI’s and 2 stolen bases. Avery Nagel also had 2 RBI’s. Hailee Howe went the distance pitching 7 innings and giving up 7 hits and 7 strikeouts. The girls are back in action on Wednesday as they host conference opponent Guerin Catholic.
