Bishop Chatard won its opening match of the 2022 season, defeating conference foe Brebeuf Jesuit 2-0 (25-10, 25-21) at the Carmel Opening Round Robin.

Bishop Chatard won its second match at the Carmel Opening Round Robin, scoring a 2-0 victory over Zionsville (25-23, 25-21).

Bishop Chatard continued winning at the Carmel Opening Round Robin, besting host Carmel (ranked #9 in the IBVCA Coaches Preseason Poll) 2-0 (25-14, 25-15).

Bishop Chatard closed out its day at the Carmel Opening Round Robin, winning against an overmatched Lafayette Jefferson team, 2-0 (25-7, 25-8). Bishop Chatard was undefeated at the tournament and did not lose any sets. Bishop Chatard, ranked #7 in the Indiana Boys Volleyball Coaches Association Preseason Coaches Poll, was the highest-ranked team participating in the Round Robin. The only team Bishop Chatard did not play (due to the four matches per day limitation) was Southport. The final results for the day: Bishop Chatard 4-0, Southport 3-0, Carmel 2-2, Brebeuf Jesuit 1-2, Zionsville 1-3, Lafayette Jeff 0-4.

#7 Bishop Chatard hosted its home opener and remained undefeated early in the season, defeating a scrappy Herron High School team 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-16).

#7 Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball upset #4 North Central, 3-1 (25-20, 12-25, 25-19, 25-15). Bishop Chatard faced a strong team missing some key players and remains undefeated this season, 6-0.

Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball won its conference opener v. Brebeuf Jesuit 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-11). Like last year, 7-0 to start the season, but this time all within 6 days.

#7 Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball visited #9 Carmel tonight and came away victorious- barely. The Varsity squad eked out a 5 set win, 3-2 (25-23, 25-20, 25-27, 25-27, 15-12), remaining undefeated for the season (8-0).

#5 Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball hosted and upset two-time defending state champion #3 Fishers, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-19). Fishers was without their OH1, who was the Maxpreps/AVCA High School Player of the Week for the Midwest Region this week. Bishop Chatard is 9-0, it’s best start ever!

Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball returned from Spring Break to host a match against the Tri West Bruins, their opening match of the season. Having dropped one spot (from #3 to #4) in the state-wide Coaches’ Poll, the Trojans shook off the rust from the 12-day layoff and pounded Tri West, winning comfortably 3-0 (25-12, 25-4, 25-9). Bishop Chatard remains undefeated for the season at 10-0.

The Trojans experienced its first loss of the season, dropping the match 0-3 to conference foe Roncalli (ranked #1 in Indiana and #4 nationally).

In a bounce-back match, Bishop Chatard vanquished a tall and tough Cathedral Irish team 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-15). The match was extremely close throughout until the Trojans opened a wide lead in the fourth and decisive set. Fans packed the stands in this battle of the Northeast side.

On April 6, 2021, Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball hosted the Indiana Christian Academy Whirlwinds. Our Trojans spoiled the season opener for the Whirlwinds, sweeping the Varsity match, 3-0. The Whirlwinds Varsity started strong, leading the first set 3-1 then 4-2 before Bishop Chatard had two consecutive strong servers to control set 1, 25-10. The Trojans continued to dominate with its serving game ball control, leading to a variety of attacks. Bishop Chatard won the next two sets 25-12 and 25-13, with a number of reserves and JV1 players gaining Varsity experience.

The Herron Achaeans visited Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball for a regular season match-up. Herron jumped to an early lead in the first set before the Trojans’ strong serving opened a gap in the score. Bishop Chatard took the first set, 25-17.

The second set was evenly played, with the teams exchanging the lead much of the set until near the end of the set, when Bishop Chatard’s serving again keyed the second set win, 25-19.

The Trojans played much tougher during the third set. Strong serving once again spurred several scoring runs, with Bishop Chatard jumping to a 16-6 lead. Several reserves took the floor to close the match, winning set 3 with a 25-16 score.

Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball opened its conference season with a sweep of the Covenant Christian Warriors. Strong serving and passing in the first set led to a quick 25-8 victory for the Trojans.

The second set began much like the first set ended, with Bishop Chatard taking early leads of 6-1, then 12-3 before the Warriors battled back, still trailing at 11-16. Trojan serving proved to be too much for Covenant Christian, and Bishop Chatard closed out the set, 25-14.

Covenant Christian toughened up even more in the third set, remaining slightly ahead of the Trojans at 11-10. Bishop Chatard then ran off a string of scores to lead 23-12 before closing the match at 25-13.

The name of this tournament was ‘IBVCA Pre-State Tournament’ and Bishop Chatard placed 2nd.
