Clare Kirchgessner advances to 2022 Golf Regionals!

Congratulations to Clare Kirchgessner, as she shot 83 in the 2022 Sectionals at Maple Creek, placing second overall, and advancing to Regionals! She had 30 putts, hit 6 fairways, and had 4 GIRs.

The team placed 5th overall with a score of 407. Sarah Semon had a 108 with 36 putts, hit 14 fairways, and 2 GIRs; Kate Kehrer had 104; Maggie Bertram had 112 and Rylen James had 122.

Congratulations to all the Lady Trojans golfers and good luck Clare in Regional competition at The Edgewood GC, Lapel, IN on September 24.

Clare Kirchgessner is 2022 Golf City Champion

Congratulations to Clare Kirchgessner, who shot an amazing 80 to become the 2022 Girls Golf City Champion! She had 34 putts, hit 7 fairways, and had 6 GIRs on the course at South Grove. The team placed 3rd, with a score of 383.

Boys Golf Team at 2022 Regionals; William Pruitt advances to state

State Results

William Pruitt recorded an excellent 79 in the 1st round of the IHSAA State Golf Finals at the Prairie View Golf Course. After a rough opening nine holes, William made two birdies on the incoming nine for an even-par 36. The 79 put him in a tie for 38th out of 100 golfers after the 1st round.

On the second day, William shot an excellent 82. He recorded three (3) birdies on his 2nd nine holes for a one-over-par 37. The two-day score of 161 (79+82) put him in a tie for 49th place out of 100 of the best HS golfers in the State.

Congratulations William and team on a great 2022 season!

Regional Results

BC played in the Yorktown Golf Regionals at The Players Club in Yorktown on June 9, 2022 and had a team score of 337 that placed 11th out of 18 teams.

William Pruitt led BC in scoring with a nice 2-over 74 that qualified him for the State Finals on June 14-15 at Prairie View Golf Club. William was T5 overall out of 110 golfers and T2 for golfers that qualify for State on teams that do not advance.

The other BC scores were Nick Belby (81), Colin Kirchgessner (86), John Schaffer (96), and Jack Feeney (96).

Sectional Results

The Trojans played in the golf sectionals at Maple Creek and shot an excellent team score of 319. The team finished 2nd out of 10 teams and advanced to the Regionals on June 9, 2022.

The BC team was led by William Pruitt who tied for 4th with a 76, followed by Colin Kirchgessner (78), Jack Feeney (82), Nick Belby (83), and John Schaffer (90).

2022 Rugby is State Champion

2022 Track: Heading to State

The Track and Field program has 16 state qualifiers with 10 girls and 6 boys. The State meet is Friday and Saturday, June 3 & 4, 2022 at Indiana University. Information can found on this State Meet Link. Come down to Bloomington to Support the Trojans!

BCHS names Kyle Reh as new Athletic Director

Bishop Chatard High School announced that Kyle Reh has been named the school’s next Athletic Director, effective July 1, 2022

Mr. Reh joins the Trojan Athletic Department after serving as the Assistant Athletic Director at St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Kentucky. In his role, Mr. Reh played a pivotal part in leading 19 teams, oversaw scheduling, facilities, transportation, and game operations, as well as coordinated academic support and eligibility.

Prior to his work at St. Xavier, Mr. Reh was the Director of Business Operations for the Louisville Bats, and he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations at Ohio University.

Mr. Reh follows Mike Ford as BCHS Athletic Director. Mr. Ford is completing an 18-year tenure in that role, and will continue as Athletic Director Emeritus for the 2022/2023 school year.

“We are excited about the energy, experience, and talents that Mr. Reh brings to our highly successful Athletic Department,” said Principal John Hasty. “The selection committee was impressed with Mr. Reh’s focus on developing the whole student-athlete, especially his commitment to keeping faith as the cornerstone of our athletic mission.”

Mr. Reh shared, “I look forward to continuing the strong Trojan legacy, and I am committed to further establishing Bishop Chatard Athletics as the model program where all students can succeed.”

Girls Lacrosse is 2022 Sectional Champion!

Congratulations to the Lady Trojan Lacrosse Team as they defeated Cathedral, 11-10, to win the 2022 Sectional Championship on May 24. They now head to the State Semi-Finals where they play Guerin Catholic on May 28 at 11:30 a.m. at BCHS!

Kylie Nagel had 5 goals, 3 ground balls and 6 draw controls. Ruby Mason had 4 goals, 1 assists, 4 GBs and 2 draw controls while taking most draws. Great TEAM EFFORT!

Baseball Team is 2022 City Champion!

2022 city champions

Congratulations to the BCHS Baseball Team, as the Trojans capture the 2022 City Championship by defeating #1 seed Cathedral at Victory Field, 8-6.

Conor O’Brien pitched 5 innings to pick up the win, and Jack Murray pitched the last 2 innings to notch the save. Jack Annee had 2 hits and 4 RBI, and JP Polackin added 2 hits to help lead the offense.

The team advanced to the championship by defeating #2 seed Heritage Christian in the semi-final game, 9-8, with a huge 7th inning rally.

Softball Team is 2022 City Champion!

Congratulations to the Lady Trojan Softball team, as they capture the City Championship with a 2-1 win over Cathedral. This is the first championship title since 1999. Kate Caskey drove in the game-winning run and Hailee Howe slammed the door for the win.
