July 8, 2019

On Friday, July 12, during halftime of the 2019 Indiana Football Coaches Association North-South All-Star Football Classic, retired head football coach Vince Lorenzano will be recognized for being accepted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame. BCHS Class of 2019 graduate Will Meyer, a 2018 football team captain and lineman for the Trojans, will represent Bishop Chatard in the game. Action will begin at 7:15 p.m. at North Central High School, and members of the Trojan community are encouraged to attend to support Coach Lorenzano and Will. Tickets are available at the gate: $10/adults and $5/students. Coach Lorenzano served as head football coach at Bishop Chatard for 14 years, from the 2003 through the 2016 football season. During that time, the Trojan football team won seven Indiana state championships, taking home the trophy in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. During his tenure, the team also accrued a number of sectional, regional and state-runner up titles. He began his coaching career at Scecina Memorial High School in 1983 and his career included assistant and head coach positions at Cathedral, Cardinal Ritter and Mississinewa high schools. Lorenzano retired from coaching in December 2016, and he continues to serve at Bishop Chatard as the school’s Director of Safety & Wellness.
