      Jackson Bolen was the 100 and 200 meter conference champ. He also anchored the 4 x 1 to a victory teaming up with Matt Coons, Thomas Coleman and Dre Moore. Coleman was also a conference champ in the 4 x 4 teaming up with Nate Joven, Mike Nash and Will Johnson.

      The 2021 BCHS Boys Trojan Track Team battled Cathedral High School back and forth all meet and ended up winning by 4.75 points to win the City Team Title. The following athletes or relays were city champs:

      β€’ Matt Coons – Long Jump
      β€’ Jackson Bolen – 200 meters
      β€’ Nate Joven – 300 low hurdles
      β€’ 4 x 800 relay of Max Bourgeois, Connor Moriarty, Will Johnson and Andrew Thrasher.
      β€’ 4 x 100 relay of Matt Coons, Thomas Coleman, Andre Moore and Jackson Bolen
      β€’ 4 x 400 relay of Nate Joven, Mike Nash, Thomas Coleman and Jackson Bolen

      With it being such a close meet, it was a true team effort and the following athletes were a big part of the victory: RJ Bradshaw, Brady Braun, Davis Falcon, Zach Fillenwarth, Ian Kolbus, Danny O’Gara, Jackson Shaw, Joey Thatcher, Cole Weber and Kelly Woods

      Jackson Bolen was named the most outstanding athlete of the meet for his stellar performances in the 200 meters and the relays.

      Place 3rd

      The Trojan placed 3rd in sectionals were highlighted by 3 sectional champions and had a total of 9 athletes or relays advanced to Regionals.

      Regionals

      Congrats to the Boys team for have an outstanding meet with numerous PRS in the jump events, distance and sprint races. The Trojans advanced 3 events to the state meet:

      Regional Champs:
      4 x 1 relay of Matt Coons, Thomas Coleman, Andre Moore and Jackson Bolen.

      State Finalists:
      100 meters – Jackson Bolen
      4 x 4 relay of Nate Joven, Mike Nash, Danny O’ Gara and Thomas Coleman.

      The state meet is Friday June 4th at Ben Davis High School.

      The following athletes or relays were conference champs: Mayan Stickel (HJ), Mary Bea Sowinski (100 and 300 hurdles), Mara Foley (400 meters), Emily Loiselle (800 meters), Lily Cridge (3200 meters), 4 x 400 relay of Mara Foley, Addison Duncan, Mary Bea Sowinski and the 4 x 8oo relay of Alex Gantx, Addison Duncan and Lily Cridge.

      The girls claimed their 11th City Championship in row while breaking a meet record scoring 211 points. The following athletes or relays were city champs:
      β€’ Mayan Stickel – 400 meters and high jump
      β€’ Emily Loiselle – 800 meters
      β€’ Lily Cridge – 1600 and 3200 meters
      β€’ Emma Stapleton – Pole Vault
      β€’ 4 x 800 relay of Addison Duncan, Alex Tedd, Alex Gantz and Emily Loiselle.

      The following athletes all scored varsity points and were a big part of the victory: Anna McGinley, Arianna Chavis, Camerson Stevenson, Moira McGinley Caroline Bell, Deirdre Hostettler, Bri Buels, Jackie Figura, Mara Foley, Mary Bea Sowinski Grace Felts and Mallory Stewart.

      Lily Cridge broke the city record in the 1600 and 3200 metes while setting a new school record in the 1600 meters.

      Place 2nd

      The 10th ranked Trojan advanced 13 out of 16 events to regionals and were sectional runner-ups to 2nd ranked North Central. The Trojans had 3 sectional champs:
      β€’ 4 x 800 – Mayan Stickel, Alex Gantz, Lily Cridge, Emily Loiselle
      β€’ 1600 meters – Emily Loiselle
      β€’ 3200 meters – Lily Cridge
      In addition, Lily and the 4 x 800 set new sectional records and Lily established a new school record in the 3200 meters. Also, the following athletes and relays will be participating in regionals next week:
      β€’ 1000 meters – Bri Buels
      β€’ 400 meters – Addison Duncan
      β€’ 800 meters – Alex Gantz and Alex Teed
      β€’ 1600 meters – Emily Loiselle and Alex Teed
      β€’ 3200 meters – Lily Cridge and Emily Loiselle
      β€’ 100 hurdles – Mary Bea Sowinski
      β€’ 300 hurdles – Mary Bea Sowinski and Grace Felts

      The 5th ranked Trojans placed 3rd in a very competitive regional meet.

      β€’ 3200 meters – Lily Cridge
      In addition, Lily and the 4 x 800 set new regional and school records. Also, the following athletes and relays qualified for the state meet:
      β€’ Mary Bea Sowinski – 100 hurdles
      β€’ Mary Bea Sowinski – 300 hurdles
      β€’ Emily Loiselle – 1600 meters
      β€’ 4 x 400 – Mara Foley, Mary Bea Sowinski, Caroline Bell and Mayan Stickel.

      State Meet
      Place 6th

      The Lady Trojans capped off a stellar season with placing 6th at the IHSAA State Championship meet.

      β€’ Lily Cridge established a new State Meet record and school record while claiming the 3200 meter state title.
      β€’ Mary Bea Sowinski was the State Runner up in the 300 hurdles.
      β€’ The 4 x 8 relay of Mayan Stickel, Alex Gantz, Lily Cridge and Emily Loiselle placed 4th
      β€’ The 4 x 4 relay of Addison Duncan, Mayan Stickel, Mary Bea Sowinski and Caroline Bell placed 7th.

      Emily Loiselle was awarded with the Mental Attitude winner for outstanding achievements on the track, in the classroom and in the community.
