      The Freshman boys basketball team kicked off the season with a victory over Heritage Christian 31-26. The boys played superbly on the defensive end while Mathew Semler led all scorers with 10, followed by Matthew Coons with 8, and Evan Terrell chipped in 7 for the victorious Trojans.

      The boys Freshman basketball team struggled to get any offense going and fell to Ben Davis 21-32. The boys played well on the defensive end. Matthew Coons and Kyle Haslett led the way for the Trojans. The B team played an extra stanza and came out firing, beating the Giants 12-6. Great job guys.

      BCHS Freshman Shootout vs Park Tudor
      W 33-22

      The Freshman Boys Basketball Team hosted their shootout today with the first game against Park Tudor. The boys played energetic, hard-nose defense to claim the 33-22 victory. The Trojans were led by Matthew Semler with 6 points.

      BCHS Freshman Shootout vs Covenant Christian
      W 41-39, Shootout Champs!

      The Freshman Boys Basketball team battled Covenant Christian for the championship and held off a late charge to win the hardware. Another exceptional defensive effort by the Trojans! Matthew Coons led the way for Bishop Chatard with 17 points, including 13-16 from the charity stripe. Matthew Semler chipped in 6 to help with the scoring. The win moves the boys to 3-1 for the season. Their next game is at home on Monday against Arsenal Tech.

      The Freshman boys basketball team moved to 4-1 on the season with a solid performance against Arsenal Tech. Adding some offense to another stingy defensive effort, the Trojans were able to pull away. On a date with destiny, Ryan McGinnis scored 15 points on his 15th b-day. Matthew Semler added 11 in the winning effort. The B Team took the floor for their second time this year and handily beat Tech, 21-13 in 2 quarters of competition; moving them to 2-0. Great job everyone.

      The Freshman boys basketball team came ready to play tonight against Lawrence Centrall. The defensive effort and intensity held LC to 1 point in the 1st quarter and 6 for the half, resulting in a 29-20 victory for the Trojans. Offensively, the team was led by Matthew Semler with 8, while Matthew Coons and Ryan McGinnis chipped in 5 apiece. The win moves the boys to 5-1 on the season. The B Team started out slow but finished with a furry, losing 25-22. Ben Gilliam and Kyle Haslett played great for the Trojans.

      The Freshman boys basketball team moved to 6-2 on the year with a solid performance against Riverside High School, winning 46-24. The Trojans played very well again defensively and were able to get some things going offensively as well. Matthew Coons led the way with 14 points and Ben Gilliam came off the bench to score 6. Evan Terrell and Ryan McGinnis both chipped in 5 a piece.

      The Freshman Boys basketball battled hard tonight but came up short against Zionsville 26-35. Defensively, the boys had great intensity and effort but unfortunately gave up 12 points on 15 offensive rebounds. After a long break, the Trojans struggled to get any offense going, with the shooting as cold as the ambient air temperature. Matthew Coons led the scoring for the Trojans with 10 points. Brady Kinnett and Matthew Semler also played well for the Trojans. The boys host North Central Saturday morning at 9:00 am.

      The Freshman Boys basketball team lost to North Central 18-31. The boys played hard and kept it close for 3 quarters but in the end, North Central’s size and athleticism proved to be too much. Matthew Coons led the Trojans with 5 points

      W 27-26

      The Freshman Boys basketball team traveled to Tindley Monday night and came home with a 27-26 victory. In a back and forth contest between two evenly matched teams, Brady Kinnett stole the ball with 20 seconds left in a tie ball game and advanced it up to Matthew Coons who converted on the layup and foul shot, giving the Trojans a 3 point lead with 10 to go. Ryan McGinnis played well leading the Trojans with 12 points. Matthew Semler chipped in 8 in the winning effort.

      W 30-8

      The Freshman Boys basketball team moved to 8-4 on the yea, beating Northwest 30-8 Wednesday night. The boys put forth a special effort on the defensive end only allowing 3 second half points. The bench was once again superb in talking and helping their teammates on the floor. Mathew Coons had 8 for the Trojans, followed by Matthew Semler with 6, and a host of Trojans added the rest. The boys travel to Roncalli tomorrow night.

      The Freshman boys basketball team lost to a very good Roncalli team 33-47. The boys fought hard and brought it to within 8 points late in the 3rd but could not overcome the Rebels hot shooting and defensive intensity. Offensively, Ryan McGinnis led the way with 16 points and Matthew Semler added 6.

      The Freshman boys basketball team lost to Brebeuf 42-25. The boys started of well and held the halftime lead. The second half didn’t go well for the Trojans and they could never overcome a scoreless 3rd quarter. Matthew Coons had 6 points and Brady Kinnett scored 5 to lead the Trojans.

      The Freshman boys basketball team made the short trip to Broad Ripple and came away with a 37-24 victory. The boys once again worked hard and started to get some shots to fall. Everyone contributed to a great defensive effort. Ethan Butler and Matthew Coons had 9 points a piece, and Matthew Semler added 8 for the Trojans.

      The Freshman boys basketball team traveled to Scecina and snapped a 2 game losing streak beating the Crusaders 36-19. Defense was once again stout and the Trojans finally got some shots to fall. Matthew Coons led the way with 14 points. Will Mason chipped in 8 in his best offensive outing of the season. The win got the boys to double digit wins to stand 10-8.

      The Freshman boys basketball team moved to 11-8 on the season with a 50-13 victory over Ritter. The Trojans again played great defensively and everyone contributed to the scoring; led by Ryan McGinnis with 13 and Ben Gilliam with 6. The boys finish out the regular season Wednesday at home against Lutheran.

      The Freshman boys basketball team played great again defensively en route to a 33-7 win over Lutheran. The Trojans were led by Evan Terrell with 12, followed by Logan O’Brien with 6. The boys host Broad Ripple next Tuesday in the first round of the City Tourney.

      The Freshman boys basketball team beat Broad Ripple 38-22 in the first round of the city tournament. The boys played their trademark defense and held the Rockets to just 6 second half points. Offensively, Matthew Coons led the way with 13 points. Matthew Semler came up big in this game with 11 points, and Brady Kinnett chipped in 7 to pace the Trojans. The team travels to Crispus Attucks on Thursday for their second round game.
