Indy Colts & BCHS Football teams up for Blood Drive: Aug. 10

Donate blood and help save lives! Help BCHS become the top donating team and win a $1000 grant for BCHS football equipment through this Colts Leadership Challenge program!

The blood drive will take place in the BCHS auxiliary gym from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 10, 2024.

Donors can be 16 years old with parental consent or 17 and older on their own. Parents, family, and friends are encouraged to join the drive!

  • Students 16 years old need to bring a completed Parent Permission form.
    Open Parent Permission Form
  • Bring a photo ID that displays your birthday with you.
  • Be sure to eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before donating.
  • Must be 110+ pounds.

Girls Soccer Alumni Game: July 25

We welcome all former Lady Trojan soccer players back to the BCHS Alumni Stadium on July 25, 2024, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for the Girls Soccer Alumni Game.

Please join us to celebrate our girls soccer program through the years. We will have a pick up game going so dust off the boots!

Alumni 21 and older are welcome to join us at Plumps Last Shot following the game.

Booster Tailgate Party is August 10. RSVP is open!

Kick-off the Fall Athletic season at the annual Booster Tailgate Party, sponsored by the Athletic Booster Club. Have fun, meet old friends, make new! This adult-only tailgating party runs from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in the Auxiliary Gym.

  • Cost is $15/person
  • Included is a Trojan Horse Cookout dinner of burgers and hotdogs.
  • Bring a side dish to share if you desire.
  • Bring your own drinks and refreshments
  • Please RSVP and pay online. Reservations are needed. The event is open to all BCHS fans.

Colin Kirchgessner advances to 2024 Golf Regional

BC Varsity played in the Sectionals at Maple Creek CC on May 31, 2024. The BC team’s score of 340 placed them 4th out of 11 teams. BCHS was led by Colin Kirchgessner with an excellent 79 followed by Charlie Belch (83), Nick Belby (88), Matthew Marrano (90) and Nate O’Brien (91). Colin Kirchgessner advanced to Regionals based on his impressive 79.

In regionals, Colin Kirchgessner placed an impressive 10th of 90 golfers in Regionals, recording an excellent score of 79, to cap his outstanding career at BCHS! Congratulations!

Girls Basketball Jr. Trojan League, Gr 3-8

Jr Trojans Girls Basketball 2024-25 is continuing the same format of our program this year with families having the choice between competitive or developmental programming for North Deanery girls grades 3-8.

Developmental Program

Our developmental program is for girls who need or would like to grow their basketball skills.  Girls will participate in training sessions on Sunday evenings 6:30-8pm starting in November and will go through January.  Bishop Chatard Varsity Head Coach Dan Wagner and former JV Head Coach Ana Adams will be leading training sessions.  Cost is $50 per player. Registration will open in September for this program.

Competitive Program

Our competitive program will participate in the IYBL August 17 – October 13.  Games are played on Saturday evenings at PAC in Westfield, Mojo Sports Complex in Noblesville, or IBA in Indianapolis.  Cost for families to attend is about $5 per person.  Teams will have 1 to 2 practices per week.  Cost is $200 per player and includes a warm-up and uniform.

We will have Competitive level teams for the following grade levels.

  • 3rd Grade – TBD (if interested in heading this team, please email me)
  • 4th Grade – Coach Mark Wenclewicz
  • 5th Grade – TBD (if interested in heading this team, please email me)
  • 6th Grade – Coach Sean Chesebrough
  • 7th Grade – Coach Alissa Hankee

Competitive Program tryouts will be on July 21 and 22, 2024 at Bishop Chatard HS. Only 1 session is required, but you can attend both.

July 21

  • 6-7:00 p.m. for 3-5th grades
  • 7:15-8:15 p.m. for 6-8th grades

July 22

  • 5-6:00 p.m. for 3-5th grades
  • 6:15-7:15 p.m. for 6-8th grades

Registration and Payment

Pre-registration is required for both programs through our online forms.

  • Competitive Program:  Tryout registration closes on July 15, 2024.  A link for payment of $200 will be sent after tryouts.  Payment includes league fees and uniforms.
  • Developmental Program: This form will be available in September 2024.

Congratulations to the following Lady Trojans who medaled in the 2024 State Track Meet. The boys and girls track teams combined for 6 state medals, the most in one year since 2006.

Also on a historical night, 3 school records were broken. Kalen in the 400 meters, Phoenix in the 300 hurdles (2nd time this year) and the 4 x 4 relay for the 3rd time this season. 

Sam Feeney is 2024 Male City Athlete of the Year

June 6, 2024

Described as ‘fearless’, Sam Feeney was named the 2024 Male City Athlete of the Year! Sam competed in football, basketball and track and field at BCHS and will focus on football at Ball State next year.

First shining as a special teams star, he helped BCHS to back-to-back 3A State Championships as an outside linebacker. He also qualified for state in the 100m as a junior, his first year running track and run the 100 meters in a blazing 10.67 seconds this spring, his personal best.

Julie Jerrell is named INGLA’s Coach of the Year

Congratulations to BCHS Girls Lacrosse Coach, Julie Jerrell, on being named the Indiana Girls Lacrosse Association (INGLA) 2024 Coach of the Year. Julie has lead the Lady Trojan Girls Lacrosse program since 2009, with 12 wins and 5 losses in this year’s season.
